Andrew has more than 20 years of financial markets expertise. He’s spent the last 10 years at BlackRock, initially within the iShares ETF team. Here, he led the EMEA Markets Coverage group, helping institutional investors to understand and implement ETFs in their portfolios. Today, Andrew is responsible for expanding ETF distribution to all client segments in the Middle East. Andrew earned a degree in Economics and French in 1999 and is a Chartered Member of the Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).
About our guest, Karim Chedid, Director, Senior Strategist for ETF and Index Investments, EMEA at BlackRock®
Karim joined BlackRock in January 2013 from Nomura where he was an Equity Derivatives strategist. At BlackRock, his team is responsible for delivering ETF and index investment trade ideas and market insights to iShares, Wealth and Institutional clients. He’s also a founding board member of Bedayati, a Lebanon-based NGO focused on inclusive employment. Karim holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the American University of Beirut (AUB), where he specialised in Macro Economics, Game Theory, and Political Science. He also holds an MSc in Urban Economic Development from University College London (UCL).
About the host, Joseph El Am, Country Manager at StashAway
Joseph has held various roles in the Financial Services industry, most recently handling account management in the French-speaking African region of Temenos. Before that, he was an external auditor at PwC, focusing on the financial services sector. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Banking & Finance from the Lebanese American University.
